ASIIN Accreditation Process at IUS Continues with Mechanical Engineering (Cluster B)
The International University of Sarajevo (IUS) continues its comprehensive ASIIN accreditation process with the latest site visit dedicated to the Mechanical Engineering study program (Cluster B) within the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences.
Following previous visits for other clusters, the two-day evaluation focused on a detailed review of the Mechanical Engineering program, its academic structure, and its position within the University. The visit included a thorough inspection of examination materials, documentation, and quality assurance processes, ensuring alignment with internationally recognized academic standards.
The ASIIN expert team held a series of meetings with key representatives of the University, including the program coordinator, the Rector, Vice-Rectors, the Dean, and the Strategic Development Office Manager. Discussions addressed the overall development of the University, the role and profile of the Mechanical Engineering program within the institutional framework, as well as its future perspectives, communication, coordination, and educational objectives.
A significant part of the visit was dedicated to an extensive tour of the University’s facilities. The experts visited relevant laboratories, project rooms, and teaching spaces, as well as the University library, where they were introduced to the equipment, infrastructure, and learning environment supporting both theoretical and practical aspects of the program.
On the second day, the ASIIN team met with students of the Mechanical Engineering program, engaging in open discussions on the content and organization of studies, academic support and counselling, and overall study conditions. These meetings provided valuable insight into the student experience and the effectiveness of teaching and learning processes.
In addition, meetings were held with industry partners to discuss cooperation, internship opportunities, and the alignment of the program with labor market needs. The visit concluded with a session involving the teaching staff, allowing for further exchange on curriculum development, academic practices, and continuous improvement.
This visit represents the continuation of the ASIIN accreditation process at IUS and reflects the University’s ongoing commitment to quality assurance, academic excellence, and alignment with international standards in higher education.
